Where I Stand
On the Issues
Economic Development
Woodbury is a growing economic center in the East Metro, with major changes happening along the METRO Gold Line and in areas like the Northeast Business Park.
As a member of the Economic Development Commission, I’m supportive of efforts to attract investment, support local businesses, and position Woodbury for long-term growth.
Going forward, I’ll focus on smart, strategic development that expands our tax base, brings quality jobs closer to home, and strengthens our local economy. That includes not just new development, but thoughtful redevelopment that reinvests in existing commercial areas to keep them competitive, productive, and aligned with the needs of our community.
Governance & Transparency
I’m committed to transparent, accountable city government that residents can trust. That means clear communication, seeking meaningful community input, and responsibly using our taxpayer dollars.
Delivering good value back to taxpayers shouldn’t be just a goal. It should be what we expect from every decision at City Hall.
Housing
Rising housing costs affect every Woodbury family. As a desirable community, demand will keep growing and if we don’t plan for it, affordable housing options for families will slip out of reach.
We need well-planned growth that expands housing options without compromising what makes Woodbury a great place to live.
I support practical zoning flexibility and more mixed-use development that creates greater choice, from condos and townhomes to single-family homes, so people can afford to live here at every stage of life.
Parks & Recreation
Parks and recreation are central to quality of life in Woodbury. From neighborhood parks to trails and greenway corridors, these spaces are part of how people stay active, connect, and enjoy the outdoors.
I support long-term investment in our parks system by keeping what we have well-maintained, expanding access to ensure every neighborhood has a park within a reasonable distance, and continuing strong recreation programs for both youth and adults.
As Woodbury grows, we need sustainable park planning that protects our natural spaces while making them more accessible and usable for residents.
Public Safety
Woodbury has a strong foundation in public safety, supported by police, fire, and EMS committed to protecting our community. We must build on that strength by focusing on:
- Strengthening relationships between officers and the community through consistent, transparent engagement
- Investing in effective crime prevention and fast, reliable response
- Ensuring our public safety departments have the staffing, training, and resources they need to do their jobs well
A growing community requires continued investments in these areas — community trust, smart prevention, and proper support for our emergency response teams.
Taxes
Taxes fund the services our community depends on, and residents deserve to see value in return.
My focus is making sure every dollar is spent wisely through smart infrastructure investment, efficient city operations, and transparent budgeting.
That also means growing our commercial tax base and managing spending responsibly, so homeowners aren’t carrying more of the burden as Woodbury continues to grow.
Water
Woodbury is making a major investment in clean drinking water, including a $300+ million treatment facility, funded primarily from 3M settlement funds, to address PFAS and ensure long-term water quality.
Clean water is essential and residents deserve both the highest standards of safety and confidence that these critical projects are done right.
As a councilmember, I will focus on strong oversight of this investment by making sure it delivers safe, reliable drinking water to our community.
