Meet Jory
I’m a dad to two daughters who attend school in District 833, and we’ve called Woodbury home since 2016. Like many families here, we spend our time juggling sports practices, biking local trails, and making last-minute grocery runs for that one missing dinner ingredient.
I studied Political Science and Economics at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee and later earned my MBA from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.
Why City Council, Why Now
Woodbury is growing rapidly, and the decisions we make now on housing, development, and infrastructure will shape the community for generations. These issues require practical leadership, thoughtful planning, and a willingness to work together to get things done.
But growth also brings complexity, and not every challenge will be easy or comfortable. When those moments come, our community deserves transparent, courageous leadership. A representative they can count on to communicate honestly and stand firm when it matters most.
I will bring my experience, leadership, and commitment to excellence to the City Council as we build a bright future for Woodbury.
My Background
My interest in public service started early. I served on my college's Student Government Association and learned how showing up to the table could make a positive difference. That experience led me into political campaign work, where I spent several election cycles working with Republican candidates and political vendors. Over time the Republican Party changed and was no longer aligned with my values. I became discouraged by my work and chose a different career path.
“I've always focused on supporting leaders who prioritize good governance, individual freedom, and equal rights - regardless of party."
Today, while my political affiliation has changed, I still approach public service with the same mindset: focusing on practical solutions and working across perspectives to get results for the community.
After leaving political work, I joined a software startup and earned my MBA. That experience taught me how to build efficient processes, develop cross-functional relationships, and drive results under pressure. The work paid off when the startup was acquired by a Fortune 100 company, where I continue to work today as an Operations Manager. The skills I gained in business are exactly what good local government requires.
Since 2024, I’ve served on the Economic Development Commission, working on issues that shape Woodbury’s growth. I was also appointed to the 2050 Comprehensive Plan Task Force, helping set the long-term vision for the city.
